Full story here
A Spokane, Wash., man found an antique bottle with an actual message on the Spokane River last week. The paper was in fair condition - flaking in places and the message was incomplete. One thing that was legible was the date - March 30, 1913. The man who had put the message in the bottle was Emmett Presnell, of Rockford, Wash. He died in 1978, but a nephew was found to tell his story.
I think it's amazing that something as breakable as a bottle could survive 96 years with any part of the message intact. I like reading odd news, and this certainly qualifies.
