I felt like a kid again

I stepped on a large splinter in the yard yesterday - it went right through my fake crocs and into my foot. So I had to get a tetanus shot. It has probably been 20-21 years since my last one - when we lived in Chicago, before the kids were born.

I made an appointment and went to work. Had to leave work to go get the shot. I was given the same kind of sheet I got when my kids had vaccinations, with warnings and everything. I tried to suggest at work that they should send me home if I "cry uncontrollably for three hours or more," but they didn't seem to take it seriously.

With respects to Judith Viorst . Lemme see. Wednesday was the day that our partly-outside kitty, Rocky, came home injured. I suspect someone might have kicked him, because his right front paw was dangling, and it looked like his ribs were hurt (based on how he meowed when we lightly touched his side). I ended up calling the animal control guy (who suggested he could take Rocky to his cousin's farm and maybe Rocky will heal naturally. (Or maybe he'll just put him to sleep like he said originally. I'm hoping Rocky is okay, but have no way to know. I just couldn't find any vets willing to work out a payment arrangment with me.) It was the day I got a temporary filling for the tooth that lost one a few days ago (which seems like a plus, but it still counts).
