Catching the bus
Cayla missed the bus at her regular stop today. I quickly drove her to the third stop in town. After I dropped her off, I checked the time - it was 7:09 a.m., one minute before the published scheduled time for her to be picked up at her stop. After I got home, I called the bus barn. Looking at the bus schedule and talking to the dispatcher, I learned that the bus driver plans to pick up at Cayla's stop at 7:06 - one minute before the published first stop, which is two stops before where Cayla catches the bus.
The dispatcher explained that they've had to adjust the schedule because people registered their kids for school late and had to be added in. I told her I just didn't want the bus driver giving Cayla a hard time for getting on at the wrong stop because he did last year.
And in the end, it's a moot point. Next week Seminary starts and I'll have to drive her to church at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. I'm just thankful that the bridge repair that has blocked our most convenient road to church will be completed this week. That will save me time and gas.
